La Mère-Tisseuse fut la première à découvrir le tissage, et avec, elle créa ce monde et les êtres qui le peuplent. Certains voulaient apprendre le tissage de sorts. Alors ils ont pris ses créations et les ont changées, créant ainsi varls et centaures. Un Dieu devint jaloux. Il transforma les humains en dredges et les cacha dans le monde pour qu’ils grandissent et tourmentent les autres créations. Lorsque la tisse-mère l’apprit, elle devint furieuse. Comme elle avait découvert la création, elle avait aussi involontairement créé la mort, et accidentellement tué le dieu jaloux sous le coup de la colère. Les autres dieux étaient terrifiés. Ils n’avaient jamais imaginé ne pas exister. Ils se sont tournés les uns contre les autres par crainte. Les dieux moururent, mais leurs créations continuèrent.[1]

Juno : This can become long and complicated. I'll keep it simple. The Loom-mother first discovered weaving, and with it created this world and those living on it. The other beings in the tapestry, other gods, reacted in many different ways. Some wanted to learn weaving, and they took the creations she made and changed them, forming varl and horseborn. One god became jealous. He took mankind, reshaped them into dredge, and hid them within the world to grow and torment the other creations. When the Loom-mother learned of this, she became furious. As she had discovered creation she had also unwittingly created death, and accidentally killed the jealous god in anger. The other gods were terrified. They had never imagined not existing. They turned on each other out of fear. The gods died, but their creations continued on. The Valka were the Loom-mothers favored few. She taught them weaving. Eyvind and I are descendants of those first people.
